Soon after his arrival Mr. E. S,→
Lindsey drew attention to certain objections to the site
selected for the temporary Terminus, and suggested that to
overcome these objections the Station should be placed on
the site between Macdonnell Road and Robinson (Nathan)
Road, in accordance with the plan enclosed.
The subject was discussed at a
Railway Meeting on the following day, when Mr. Lindsey
expressed the opinion, subject to modification after
further consideration, that, apart from other objections,
the site proposed for the complete scheme for the per-
-manent Terminus was inadequate, and that to meet the
development of future years it would probably become
necessary to resume Marine Lot No. 10 to the westward of
the site and to throw the intervening portion of Macdonnell
Road into the Station site. After a very full discussion
of the matter I requested Mr. Lindsey to furnish me with
his considered views on the subject and I now enclose a
copy of a revised report which he has substituted for one
furnished on the 15th. of December, in consequence of a
re-consideration
